    Sherlock Holmes is a character from books written by Sir Arthur Conan most famous story was The Hound of the Baskervilles.. Many of the stories were made into movies and television is a detective who tries to find out who committed is a monument in London dedicated to him. He has a sharp mind and solves even the most difficult and strange cases.   There is a lot of difference between them. I've seen the four seasons of the series and also read about half of the work of Sir Aurther Conan Doyle on the most popular detective character. I feel that the major difference is that tv series is mode.
